How does it work?
It’s pretty simple: Place your subscription order by 10pm on Tuesday and we’ll deliver your food that Friday!


Where do you deliver?
Right now we deliver to all of San Francisco, the East Bay, and all locations in Marin south and east of Fairfax. We’re hoping to include the Peninsula and South Bay soon. Stay tuned!


Which foods should I choose?
We create our food to grow with your baby. We start with simple purees of fruits and veggies, then move on to herbs, spices and finally new textures. And when it’s time for finger foods, our kids’ meals are there at the ready. We design our menus to balance favorite items with the introduction of new flavors. We call it Flavor Building and it’s structured to encourage a lifetime of healthy, adventurous eating!


What makes your food different?
We’re different in a few ways:

  1. Our food is fresh, for goodness sake: Would you eat packaged food for every meal? Neither should your little one! We make all our purees and meals fresh using organic and sustainable ingredients. Fresh, unprocessed foods retain more of their nutrients and flavor, giving your little ones the goodness they need.
  2. Flavor profiles designed to encourage great eating: From our purees all the way up to kids meals, we balance consistency and variety in our menus to help children learn to love lots of different flavors.

How do I store and serve the food? How long will it last?

This varies based on each meal, but most can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days; be sure to check the label. After that, pop it in the freezer for longer-term storage. Just thaw frozen items in the fridge overnight or remove them from the compostable packaging, pop them into a microwave-safe bowl and reheat in the microwave.

Can I choose my delivery date & time?
At the moment, we’re offering delivery only on Fridays between 4 - 6pm, but we hope to expand these windows soon!


Can I change my order once it’s been placed?
You sure can! Just make sure to do it by Tuesday at 10pm for that Friday’s delivery.


How do I skip a delivery?
Just click on the My Account icon and then on Manage Subscriptions.


On the left-hand side, under your name, click Delivery Schedule. Choose the date(s) you want to skip and you're done!


I have a broccoli-hating child, can I opt out of certain items?
We encourage parents to keep introducing tastes of all kinds of foods over time, but we also understand that sometimes you need a surefire hit. Each week we’ll send the menu of what’s coming so you can take a peek ahead of time. You can adjust your subscription by Tuesday at 10pm for that Friday’s delivery, or email us at hi@hellospoon.com with any special requests.


What do I do with the ice packs and insulated bag?
Just give the the ice packs and silver insulated bags back to your delivery person at your next delivery. The food containers are compostable so just toss them in your bin.


Where do you make your food?
We have a bright and beautiful commercial kitchen space in West Oakland.
