When Annie welcomed her baby girl in 2014, she wanted to share all the wonders of the world with her daughter, including the joys of food. Looking at the available options, Annie was dismayed. Jars and packets and pouches abounded, but that was it. She and her husband ate delicious, fresh, home-cooked food—why would she expect her daughter to eat baby food that sat on a shelf?
And so began Annie’s quest to bring the various flavors, textures and joys of healthy eating to her daughter. As she developed adventurous recipes, word got out and friends started requesting her fresh foods for their children. Babies were talking! Baby by baby, her clientele grew, prompting Annie to launch Hello Spoon in 2015. Today, she shares her passion for great eating with families throughout the Bay Area.

With a background in brand marketing and copywriting, Cathy has put her talents to work for technology and food companies alike. From Google to Good Eggs to freelance consulting, she has helped brands put their best foot forward and helped people realize the value and delight of really good food.
The timing couldn't have been better when she discovered Hello Spoon—her son had just started eating solids—and its goals and mission lined right up with hers. Her son, born in June of 2015, is a huge Hello Spoon fan. Cathy, though no longer pregnant, occasionally still eats for two.
Dr. Alex Zaphiris, MD, MS
Dr. Alex Zaphiris, MD, MS grew up with first hand experience in the healing power of food from her Greek mother’s home cooking. As a UCSF-trained, Integrative Family Doctor, she draws on food as medicine as the first line of treatment for many health conditions. Now as a mother, she is committed to feeding her baby delicious and healthy meals. Born 6 weeks early at 4 1/2 lbs, her little boy is rapidly catching up and now has 2 chins and a buddha belly. She’s very happy to lend her expertise to the Hello Spoon team and help make it easier to nourish the next generation. She lives in Marin with her husband and son.
